We have a busy bricks & mortar store with people in & out trying costumes on all the time. We’re working to leverage technology as much as we can, however imagine if you were in the change-room & someone had booked your chosen costume online before you’d had the chance to put your pants back on?! Not a good look…
In addition, a lot of what we offer at Fancy That! is one-on-one styling with mix & match, one-off accessories. It’s pretty tricky to automate.
If you see something you like online, you can reserve it with us over the phone by providing a $44 non-refundable holding deposit. We will just need to site your licence or photo I.D. when you come instore to collect – or have you forward a scanned copy of same to us via email, if you require costume delivery.
Standard Hire Period
Our standard hire period for weekend events is Wed to Mon, with return due on Monday whether you collect on Wed, Thurs, Fri or Sat.
Mid week, it’s 3 days eg Mon – Wed, Tue – Thur.
Additional days are available at $22 per day. Should you wish to retain the costume for more than 3 additional days, it becomes a double hire. See Conditions of Hire for details.
We do aim to be flexible re this in the traditionally quieter months of Jan & Feb each year, where many companies hold offsite conferences & returning within a shorter timeframe can be difficult.
Hire Outside Sydney?
Sorry, no. We don't post our Hire costumes.
Many of our costumes are large, heavy, handmade, vintage or one-of-a-kind, making them expensive to ship & simply too precious to risk in transit. And if we ever needed to chase up an overdue return... we're really not keen on boarding a plane.
If you're outside Sydney, we'd encourage you to support your local costume hire business. They're becoming harder to find & we'd love to see them stick around.
What Info Do You Need?
To hire a costume, you'll need to provide a current Australian driver's licence or photo ID showing your current address, along with a valid credit card. This helps us protect our much-loved hire collection.

Another iconic Elton look, debuted in 1970 at Eltons first ever performance in the US (introduced by Neil Diamond, no less) at the legendary West Hollywood Troubadour Club.
Believe it or not, much of his early stage wardrobe, including this shirt & overall combo, was actually store bought – but always with that signature, Elton flair!
Inclusions:
- Glasses -oversize white with diamonte trim
- Top – long sleeve, crew neck navy with silver stars
- Overalls – flared white with silver solar flare trim on front & yes – with pockets – whoo hoo!
White platform shoes available for an additional $10
A note on sizing:
To fit up to a standard mens Large – chest up to 44″ / 112cm, waist 37″ / 94cm (remember, being overalls, a smaller waist would be fine – your “pants” won’t exactly fall down!)

Not every product on our website is stocked in our Crows Nest, Sydney Store. Each product is labelled as either Instore Only, Instore + Online or Online Only.

Instore Only
These products are either oversized (eg. sombreros) or cannot be shipped (eg. aerosol hair sprays).
Available for instore purchase, Click & Collect, or Same Day (Sydney) Courier only. Not available for shipping.
Instore + Online
These products are stocked in our Crows Nest, Sydney store & can also be shipped Australia-wide. Need it for the weekend? Click & Collect, Same Day (Sydney) Courier, or order Express by 10am Wednesday.
If Warehouse Stock is displayed, you can order more than we currently have instore. Your order will then ship direct from our supplier warehouse.
Online Only
This product is shipped direct from one of our supplier warehouses & is NOT stocked in our Crows Nest (Sydney) store. Need it for the weekend? We recommend ordering Express by 10am Wednesday. Instore purchase, Click & Collect & Same Day (Sydney) Courier are NOT available.
